Bahrain Phone Number validator

How the phone number format works

Format
Bahrain phone number in national or international (+973) format
Example
+97336001234

Things to watch for

  • Accepts national or international (E.164, e.g. +973...) format
  • Validated with Google's libphonenumber; confirms the number is possible/valid for this country, not that it is currently assigned or reachable
Regex for phone number
^[+]?[0-9 ()\-]{6,}$

A Bahraini phone number is always 8 digits, with no area code and no trunk prefix — the numbering plan is flat across the whole country. A mobile number starts with 3 (3600 1234); a landline starts with 1 (1700 1234). Adding +973 in front is the only change needed for international form, since there’s no leading 0 to strip either way.

How this validator works

Enter the 8 digits alone (36001234) or with the country code (+97336001234) — this tool checks length and leading-digit range against Bahrain’s real numbering plan using Google’s libphonenumber library, entirely in your browser. Because there’s no trunk zero to drop, the national and international forms differ by exactly the +973 prefix and nothing else — no digit gets added, removed, or reshuffled in between.

What a pass doesn’t tell you

A pass confirms the 8 digits fall within a real Bahraini number range — it says nothing about whether that specific mobile or landline is currently active or reachable. Format validity and live-line status are separate questions; this tool only answers the first one.

Scope: catch a missing digit, an extra digit, or a wrongly-added 0 in front of +973 before the number reaches a booking form or SMS gateway — not proof the number rings.

phone number FAQ

Does a Bahraini phone number have an area code?

No. Bahrain uses a single flat numbering plan with no area codes and no trunk prefix, so every number — mobile or landline, anywhere on the island — is just 8 digits dialed the same way.

Do I need to strip a leading 0 when adding +973 to a Bahraini number?

No. Bahraini numbers don't carry a trunk 0 at all, so the international form is simply +973 followed by the same 8 digits, unlike neighboring countries where a leading 0 has to be dropped first.

How can I tell a Bahraini mobile number from a landline?

By the first digit: mobile numbers start with 3, while landline numbers start with 1. Both are 8 digits total, so the leading digit is the reliable signal, not the length.
