Lithuania Phone Number validator
How the phone number format works
- Format
- Lithuania phone number in national or international (+370) format
- Example
- +37061234567
Things to watch for
- Accepts national or international (E.164, e.g. +370...) format
- Validated with Google's libphonenumber; confirms the number is possible/valid for this country, not that it is currently assigned or reachable
^[+]?[0-9 ()\-]{6,}$A Lithuanian mobile number pairs a trunk prefix with a 6X operator code and six more digits — 061 234 567 in current national form, eight digits after the trunk prefix. Lithuania switched its trunk prefix from the Soviet-era 8 to the standard European 0 starting 1 March 2024, with the changeover fully complete by 1 March 2025, so 0 is now the correct prefix to expect on any current number. Dropping that 0 and adding +370 gives the international form: 061 234 567 becomes +37061234567.
How this validator works
Enter the number in national form (061234567) or full international form (+37061234567); this tool checks the digit count and 6X prefix range against Lithuania’s current numbering plan using Google’s libphonenumber, entirely in your browser. Because the trunk-prefix switch is recent, an old business card or contact list still showing a leading 8 will need that 8 dropped, not converted, before the number can be validated or dialed correctly.
What a pass doesn’t tell you
A pass confirms the number matches a real Lithuanian mobile shape — it doesn’t confirm the SIM is active or the line connected. Format validity and current network status are separate questions this tool can’t answer.
Scope: use this to catch a wrong prefix, a missing digit, or a leftover trunk digit after +370 before the number reaches a form — not as proof the number is reachable.

phone number FAQ
What does a Lithuanian mobile number look like nationally?
A trunk 0 followed by a 6X code and six more digits, e.g. 061 234 567 — eight digits after the trunk prefix. For international form it becomes +37061234567, with the 0 dropped and the country code added.
Why did Lithuanian numbers used to start with 8 instead of 0?
Lithuania used 8 as its trunk prefix from the Soviet era until a switch to the now-standard European 0 began on 1 March 2024, with the old 8-prefix fully retired by 1 March 2025 — so any number still quoted with a leading 8 is out of date.
Does this tool accept both the old and new trunk prefix?
It validates against Lithuania's current numbering plan, which uses 0 as the trunk prefix. Enter the number with a leading 0 in national form, or in full international form starting +370, and either will check correctly.
