Myanmar Phone Number validator
How the phone number format works
- Format
- Myanmar phone number in national or international (+95) format
- Example
- +9592123456
Things to watch for
- Accepts national or international (E.164, e.g. +95...) format
- Validated with Google's libphonenumber; confirms the number is possible/valid for this country, not that it is currently assigned or reachable
^[+]?[0-9 ()\-]{6,}$A Myanmar phone number dials nationally as 09 followed by a network prefix and subscriber number — for example 09 2123456. Because Myanmar has expanded its mobile ranges in stages, the digit count after that leading 09 isn’t fixed the way it is in many countries: older ranges run shorter, newer ranges run longer, and both are genuinely valid. Converting to international form drops the leading 0, so 09 2123456 becomes +95 92123456.
How this validator works
Enter the number nationally (092123456) or with the country code (+9592123456); this tool checks the digits against Myanmar’s real numbering plan using Google’s libphonenumber, entirely in your browser, correctly handling the country’s mix of shorter and longer mobile ranges rather than assuming one fixed length. This matters more here than in most countries, since a simple fixed-length check would wrongly reject perfectly valid Myanmar numbers.
What a pass doesn’t tell you
A pass confirms the number matches a genuine Myanmar mobile pattern — it says nothing about whether that SIM is currently active. Myanmar’s mobile market has grown quickly, and older or dormant numbers can be reassigned without any change to their format.
Scope: useful for catching a wrong prefix or a digit count outside every valid Myanmar range before a number reaches a form or SMS gateway — not a live reachability check.

phone number FAQ
Why do Myanmar mobile numbers vary in length more than most countries?
Myanmar issued mobile ranges in stages as demand grew, so older prefixes carry fewer digits after the leading 09 and newer ranges carry more — a number that's a digit shorter or longer than one you've seen before isn't necessarily wrong, since both lengths can be genuine.
What happens to the leading 0 in a Myanmar number when converting to +95?
It's dropped. A number dialled domestically as 09 XXXXXXXX becomes +95 9XXXXXXXX — the trunk 0 is stripped and the remaining digits, starting with 9, follow directly after +95.
Does a valid check confirm a Myanmar SIM is active?
No. It confirms the digits match a real Myanmar mobile pattern under the numbering plan — not that the SIM is currently loaded or reachable, which needs a carrier-side lookup this tool doesn't perform.
