Uzbekistan Phone Number validator
How the phone number format works
- Format
- Uzbekistan phone number in national or international (+998) format
- Example
- +998912345678
Things to watch for
- Accepts national or international (E.164, e.g. +998...) format
- Validated with Google's libphonenumber; confirms the number is possible/valid for this country, not that it is currently assigned or reachable
^[+]?[0-9 ()\-]{6,}$An Uzbek mobile number is 9 digits long, dialled the same way domestically as internationally with no trunk digit to strip for mobile-to-mobile calls — 91 234 56 78 locally becomes +998912345678 with nothing added or removed. Uzbekistan split from the old Soviet-era +7 numbering zone in 1997 and was assigned its own +998 code, unlike Kazakhstan, which chose to keep +7 and still shares it with Russia.
How this validator works
Enter the number exactly as dialed (912345678) or with +998 in front (+998912345678); this tool checks the 9-digit length against Uzbekistan’s real numbering plan using Google’s libphonenumber, entirely client-side. Because there’s no trunk digit for mobile numbers here, the validator’s most common catch is a leading 0 or 8 added out of habit from a neighboring country’s dialing convention — that extra digit fails validation immediately.
What a pass doesn’t tell you
A pass confirms the 9 digits match a genuine Uzbek mobile shape — it says nothing about whether the SIM is currently active or the line connected.
Scope: use this to catch an extra digit, a wrong count, or a malformed prefix before an Uzbek number reaches a form — not as proof it’s reachable today.

phone number FAQ
Why does Uzbekistan have its own +998 code instead of sharing Russia's +7?
In 1997, most former Soviet republics were split out of the shared +7 numbering zone into their own codes — Uzbekistan got +998. A handful, including Kazakhstan, opted to keep +7 instead, which is why Kazakhstan still shares that code with Russia today while Uzbekistan doesn't.
Is there a trunk digit to strip from an Uzbek mobile number for +998?
No, not for mobile-to-mobile dialing — a number written as 91 234 56 78 locally is exactly what follows +998: +998912345678, all 9 digits carried straight across.
Does a valid check confirm an Uzbek number is currently reachable?
No. It only confirms the 9 digits fit a real pattern recognized under Uzbekistan's numbering plan — not that the SIM is active, which needs a carrier-side lookup this tool doesn't perform.
