^[+]?[0-9 ()\-]{6,}$A Western Sahara phone number is 9 digits under the country code +212, the same plan used by Morocco. Western Sahara’s sovereignty is one of the world’s longest-running unresolved territorial disputes: Morocco administers most of the territory and treats it as part of the country, while the Polisario Front claims independence for it as the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, and the United Nations continues to classify it as a non-self-governing territory.
How this validator works
Enter the number in national form (0650123456) or full international form (+212650123456); this tool checks the 9-digit length and leading-digit pattern against the +212 numbering plan using Google’s libphonenumber, entirely client-side. There is no separate Western Sahara country code recognized internationally, so this check validates the number against the same plan used across Morocco — it can’t independently confirm which side of the territorial line issued the number.
What a pass doesn’t tell you
A pass confirms the digits form a real number under the shared +212 plan — it doesn’t confirm the SIM is active or take a position on the territory’s disputed status.
Scope: catches a malformed digit or wrong-length entry before a number reaches a form — not a substitute for a real lookup service.

phone number FAQ
Is Western Sahara an independent country?
Its status is disputed. The territory is claimed both by Morocco, which administers most of it, and by the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic backed by the Polisario Front; the United Nations lists it as a non-self-governing territory with the matter unresolved.
Why does this validator use Morocco's +212 code for Western Sahara?
Because telecom infrastructure in the Moroccan-administered majority of the territory runs on Morocco's +212 numbering plan — there is no separate Western Sahara country code in international use, regardless of the underlying sovereignty dispute.
Does a valid check confirm a Western Sahara number is currently active?
No. It only confirms the 9 digits match a real number under the +212 plan — not that the SIM is active, which needs a carrier-side lookup this free tool doesn't perform.
