Ivory Coast Phone Number validator
How the phone number format works
- Format
- Ivory Coast phone number in national or international (+225) format
- Example
- +2250123456789
Things to watch for
- Accepts national or international (E.164, e.g. +225...) format
- Validated with Google's libphonenumber; confirms the number is possible/valid for this country, not that it is currently assigned or reachable
^[+]?[0-9 ()\-]{6,}$An Ivorian phone number is 10 digits long with no trunk prefix layered on top — a structural quirk from Côte d’Ivoire’s 2021 numbering overhaul, which retired the old area-code system and folded it into a single leading digit as part of every number. Written internationally, a number like 0123456789 becomes +2250123456789: the full 10 digits carried over unchanged, nothing dropped, nothing added.
How this validator works
Type the number exactly as dialed locally (0123456789) or with the country code in front (+2250123456789); this tool checks the 10-digit length against Côte d’Ivoire’s current numbering plan using Google’s libphonenumber, entirely client-side. Because there’s no separate trunk 0 to strip here — unlike most West African neighbors — the validator’s most common catch is someone reflexively dropping or adding a digit out of habit from a different country’s format.
What a pass doesn’t tell you
A pass confirms the digits match the post-2021 numbering shape — it says nothing about whether the line is currently connected or the SIM active. Numbers formatted correctly can still belong to nobody reachable.
Scope: this flags a wrong digit count or a habit-driven extra or missing digit before a number reaches a form — it does not confirm the line rings through.

phone number FAQ
Why is an Ivorian phone number 10 digits with no separate trunk prefix to drop?
Côte d'Ivoire rebuilt its numbering plan in 2021, folding the old area codes into a single leading digit and lengthening every number to 10 digits. That leading digit is now structurally part of the number itself, not a trunk 0 you strip for the +225 form — so 0123456789 becomes +2250123456789 with nothing removed.
Is an older 8-digit Ivorian number still valid?
No. The 2021 reform retired the shorter format entirely, so any number that hasn't been updated to the current 10-digit shape will fail validation against the numbering plan in force today.
Does a valid result confirm the Ivorian number is currently reachable?
No. It only confirms the 10 digits fit a real pattern recognized after the 2021 numbering reform — not that the line is active, which requires a carrier-side check this tool doesn't perform.
