Syntax Validation
Ensure every email follows proper format rules
Our syntax validation checks each email address against RFC 5321 and RFC 5322 standards. We catch common format errors that would cause immediate bounces:
- Missing @ symbol - Addresses without the essential separator
- Invalid characters - Spaces, brackets, or other forbidden characters
- Malformed domains - Missing TLDs, double dots, or invalid structures
- Local part issues - Starting/ending with dots, consecutive dots
Emails failing syntax validation are flagged as "Invalid Format" so you can review and correct them before importing.
Domain Verification
Verify the domain exists and accepts email
A syntactically valid email is useless if the domain doesn't exist. Our domain verification includes:
- DNS Resolution - Confirms the domain resolves to valid DNS records
- MX Record Check - Verifies mail exchange servers are configured
- Domain Status - Detects parked, expired, or inactive domains
- Mail Server Response - Tests if the mail server accepts connections
This catches typos like "gmial.com" and domains that have gone offline since the email was collected.
Disposable Email Detection
Identify temporary and throwaway addresses
Disposable email addresses from services like Guerrilla Mail, 10MinuteMail, and hundreds of others are designed to be temporary. Sending to them wastes resources and skews your metrics.
Our detection system identifies:
- Known disposable domains - Database of 20,000+ temporary email services
- Pattern matching - Catches new services with predictable patterns
- Domain age analysis - New domains are often disposable services
Flag or remove disposable addresses to ensure your list contains real, engaged subscribers.
Role-Based Email Detection
Identify generic addresses like info@ and support@
Role-based addresses (info@, support@, admin@, sales@) are tied to functions, not people. They often:
- Go to multiple recipients or shared inboxes
- Have higher spam complaint rates
- Show lower engagement metrics
- Change handlers frequently
We detect role-based addresses so you can decide whether to include them in marketing campaigns or limit them to transactional emails.
Free Email Provider Detection
Identify Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, and other consumer emails
Know the composition of your list by identifying free email providers:
- Gmail - gmail.com, googlemail.com
- Microsoft - outlook.com, hotmail.com, live.com
- Yahoo - yahoo.com, ymail.com
- Others - icloud.com, protonmail.com, aol.com
For B2B marketing, you may want to prioritize business email addresses. Our detection helps you segment accordingly.
Domain Age Verification
Detect newly registered suspicious domains
Domains registered in the last 30 days are statistically more likely to be associated with spam, fraud, or temporary use. Our domain age checking:
- WHOIS/RDAP lookup - Retrieves domain registration date
- Age calculation - Shows domain age in days
- New domain flag - Highlights domains under 30 days old
- Risk scoring - Factors age into overall email risk
Use this data to add extra verification steps for signups from very new domains.
Typo Detection & Suggestions
Catch common misspellings and suggest corrections
Don't lose subscribers to simple typos. Our intelligent typo detection catches common mistakes:
- gmial.com → gmail.com
- yaho.com → yahoo.com
- hotmal.com → hotmail.com
- outlok.com → outlook.com
We suggest corrections so you can recover potentially lost contacts rather than bouncing to invalid addresses.
